Common Land is a non-commercial series. Our goals are to educate and inform our listeners, while inspiring them to get out and explore.

Each season of the show represents a new collaborative relationship between a variety of non-profit and community partners. Season one, about the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area, was co-produced by the Wild Lens Collective and Radio Boise, both of which are 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. These two organizations worked closely with the Bureau of Land Management, the federal land management agency responsible for managing the NCA, the Birds of Prey NCA Partnership, a 501(c)3 non-profit that serves as a “friends” group for the NCA, and the Archives of Falconry, a branch of the Peregrine Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on the conservation of birds of prey worldwide.

Our second season, currently in production, will focus on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and is being co-produced by the Wild Lens Collective and New Hampshire Public Radio. Our team is working closely with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the 501(c)3 non-profit responsible for managing and conserving the trail, along with numerous other non-profit organizations that are involved in conservation, management, education, outreach and advocacy efforts associated with the Appalachian Trail.

All donations made through this website will go directly towards production on our second season of the show, which will focus on telling the story of the Appalachian Trail. New episodes will drop in the spring of 2025.
